Shema star
golda och academy

I made a jewish star and put the shema on it to remind people to say the shema in the morning and at night. The shema is cut so in the morning on one side the sun shines through the text and on the other side when you flip it its glow in the dark so you can see it when it's dark in your room. My personal connection to this mitzvah is that I say it everyday and I want people to say it more often because it is one of the most important prayers. I want people to feel happy and thankful that they are alive. By saying the Shema you feel alive because you're saying the words that god commanded us to say. I used wood because it reminds me of the earth and the earth connects to me. I chose the star to be my symbol because the star symbolizes the star of david and it is significant to me because I am jewish.
