The Bridge Upon Which the Earth Lies
Emma Levine, Eliana Abrams, Ezra Drang
Our art piece portrays the importance of the truth, peace, and justice. Engraved on the base of our art piece it says “The World is sustained by three things, by justice, by truth and by peace.”
We felt that this quote resonates with our lives in many ways. Often in school and at home we want to bring out the truth, but a balance between bridging out the truth, and keeping peace is needed. Truth often brings out justice, but at what stake? Our model is composed of two laser cut trees and two 3D printed bushes. A river that is vinyl cut, a laser cut bridge, and 3 laser cut people holding up the bridge. The river resembles chaos, fast flowing and rocky. The Earth is on a bridge held up by three people representing truth, justice and peace. If truth alone holds up the Earth, the bridge will fall, and the world will be in a chaos of anger. If justice alone holds up the Earth alone, the world will fall into a chaos of misery. And if peace alone holds up the Earth alone, the world will fall into a chaos of anarchy. Around the Earth are trees and bushes, representing the life that comes from balance. Our piece shows that the earth is held up by these three things, together, in balance. Truth, peace, and justice, foundate a livable world.
COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN ELEMENTS
Students utilized industry standard 3D modeling software, Fusion 360, to model elements of their artwork. Fusion 360 is a cloud-based 3D modeling software platform for product design and manufacturing. Typically used to design and engineer products to ensure aesthetics, form, fit, and function.
