The Four Seasons Tree
Ariella Melohn & Leora Melohn

Time changes living things and because of this, living things don’t last forever. The moons and the seasons go away over the year, but they come back again. The moon cycle is very important in the Torah because it tells you when the next Jewish holiday will come. Shmita will also come around, but not so often. This tree represents Shmita because of the fruits it produces. Our anchor-source text is עונות ,which means “seasons”. To create the file, we drew a tree on paper, then digitized it and converted it to SVG to import it to TinkerCAD. Then, we created several rotated copies to make it three-dimensional. Finally, we created a moon, apples, text, and a plexiglass stand. The digital file is different from the final creation, in that it does not include leaves, which we added using glue. The file includes two pieces, which we printed and glued together. We did this so that we could make the tree print larger.
