Circle of Life
Gabriel Hirsh, Maya Footerman
Our art piece is a base with trees on one side, clouds on the other and in the middle of both sides, there is a dove. The motivation behind our art is the jewish text that we inserted around our base. We are trying to convey a message of the connection between truth and peace through our nature and dove. Each of our elements contain different meanings behind them. Our trees symbolize truth on the ground while our clouds symbolize truth above what we can see. Our dove represents peace. This design is significant because it is made out of a mirror, which shows the peace within whoever looks through the mirror. We used a technique of self interpretation in our project, so every person can enjoy it in their own way.
The digital model differs from our physical model because you can’t truly understand the meaning of our art through the computer. The colors, textures, and motion are not the same online as they are in person. These differences play a big part in how our piece is interpreted. The height of the trees, or pristine cuts of the text on our base will not be able to be interpreted the same as if you could feel and rotate our piece.
