Our Design Fab Artist Statement
When going through the Ideation part of our design Process, We chose to represent a quote that wasn’t just words that stood out, we wanted something meaningful. So we decided to start searching for quotes and decided upon “Olam Chesed Yibaneh, We must build this world from love.”- Rabbi Amanda Greene but from the original text, Tehillim, 89:3 said by Daveed Ha Melech. The colors we decided to associate our Idea with were Red, blue, Green and black. This matched with what we were looking to design, a hand holding up an earth shaped as a heart which is going to be green and blue to symbolize the earth. We created a red hamsa to symbolize love and acceptance in our world. Then we realized that it says we build this world from love, so a hammer would be able to symbolize this theoretical building. Another part of our design process was figuring out how to hold up the heart without over shadowing it, so we thought of creating some sort of pillar. This pillar then became the hand of god which is holding up the earth symbolizing how god loves everyone. We believe that what we have created truly can represent what it means for there to be truth, peace, equality and love. And hopefully by us participating in the festival and by at least proving to ourselves what our project means, but to the rest of the world. But what we do know is that we are one small step closer to world peace. Thank you
